The Fizzy Tarté Cocktail being served

Experimenting is to The Fizzy Tarté what strawberries are to Champagne. It plays a large part of the company’s ethos, and is particularly notable when it comes to the talented mixologists at this establishment.

The Fizzy Tarté offers its own unique Crafted Cocktails, where everything form the cocktail’s name to its garnish is decided and created in-house.

Kuba Marcisz – The Bar Manager at The Fizzy Tarté – has been in the bar & drinks industry for 7 years, 5 of those specialising in cocktails. However, it has been in the past 2 years where experimenting with cocktail recipes, flavours and styles has become a passion.

Kuba gives us some deeper insight into these one-of-a-kind beverages….

How do you come up with completely original ideas for cocktails?

K: Inspiration comes from a combination of sources. A lot of it stems from pure curiosity and experimentation amongst the in-house mixologists. There may be seasonal or trendy flavours that we use to try and make a delicious and innovative drink, or a special component like dry ice. However, a lot of the time it’s a simple case of a random idea that has been acted upon! Customers also play a large part in the creation of our Crafted Cocktails. Sometimes customers will ask us to make them a drink with particular ingredients depending on their preferences. We then use these requests as foundations to form an original cocktail which tastes good.

What is your favourite cocktail that you have created?

K: A cocktail called ‘Pink Angel’ which includes Raspberry Vodka, Elderflower Liquor, Cranberry Juice & Egg White.

Are there any rules to crafting a unique cocktail?

K: Basically, it has to taste good! Also, you shouldn’t be able to taste a particular spirit, but the distinctive flavours instead. Some people may complain that they “can’t taste the alcohol”, but that’s what makes a beautifully crafted cocktail. A quality cocktail should be an explosion of perfectly balanced flavours being taken from the spirits, liquors and mixers.
