How to make a Fizzy Tarte Classic Strawberry Daiquiri – The insider recipe

The Fizzy Tarté cocktail bar being served in windermere

Ideal for a hot summers day we have pulled together our recipe for a Strawberry Daiquiri cocktail. This simple drink uses fresh fruit, rum, lime and you’ll also need a blender (ingredients can be shaken if a blender isn’t available). The drink was supposedly invented by an American mining engineer, named Jennings Cox, who was in Cuba at the time of the Spanish–American War around 1902. We’ll if it was Jennings or someone else we are very grateful for whoever created this delicious drink.

Ingredients you’ll need:

  • 50ml Rum

  • 25ml Lime Juice

  • 75ml Strawberry Purée

How to make:

  1. Pick your wine or cocktail glass.

  2. Then in a blender add 50ml Rum, 25ml Lime and 75ml of Strawberry Purée

  3. Give it a good wiz for a minute.

  4. Pour into your glass and garnish with a strawberry or wedge of lime.

  5. It’s that simple, enjoy!

Strawberry Purée Recipe & How To Make Instructions

To make the purée you will need fresh strawberries and caster sugar. We make ours with a ratio of 1:1 so, for example, 100g strawberries to 100g of caster sugar. Place these in a blender and blitz it for a few minutes and you are done!
